Nddc Advisory C’ttee to meet Jonathan

The Advisory Committee on Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, has met with the view of arriving at modalities to tackle the problems of the Niger Delta region as directed by the Presidency.

The decision of the Committee, according to Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State while briefing the press in Government House, Port Harcourt, after the meeting, was in line with Act 11 of the NDDC law which intends to address the problems of the area as well as bring improvement and development.

The Governor said all issues bordering on the region as contained in the article were adequately looked into and contributions, which they believed were in public interest, were made by 8 Governors in attendance.

Amaechi disclosed that the Committee is made up of the 9 Governors of the Niger Delta States as well as the principal officers of NDDC and that the decision reached at the meeting which was elaborate, would be presented to the Office of the President today.

Hon. Ekpo Okon, NDDC Commissioner representing Cross River State, said in an interview, that the stakeholders in the development of Niger Delta appraised the document concerning the execution of the Niger Delta master plan and how it could be aggressively pursued.
