LAGOS—A Lagos High Court has been asked to stop the proposed delegate conference slated for July 2010 by the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA.
A former secretary of NBA, Lagos branch, Mr. Seth Amechi in his originating summons brought under Order 3 Rules 5 and 8 of the High Court Civil Procedure Rules 2004 and under the inherent jurisdiction of the court was also asking the court for an order declaring that the purported amended constitution meant to be used by the association in convening the proposed conference is contrary to the provisions of the constitution of the association.
Joined as respondents were the registered trustees of the NBA, Chief Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, Ibrahim Eddy Mark and Mrs. Linda Rose Bala.
