WARRIâ€”Delta State Government has dissolved the Governing Council of the College of Education, Warri.
Announcing government’s decision after the meeting of the State Executive Council meeting, the Commissioner for Information, Mr. Oma Djebah, said the Governing Council of the College of Education, Warri, was dissolved as a result of internal wrangling.
Mr. Djebah, who said a new council is to be named subsequently also announced that the interview exercise for the post of Provost of the institution was annulled due to infractions in the process.
It will be recalled that the dissolved Council of the institution had been embroiled in internal wrangling that threatened the smooth running of the institution. Accordingly, government resolved that the new Council, when constituted will play mainly advisory roles to the management team of the institution.
Governmentâ€™s decision is hinged on the need to ensure that its human capital development programme was not jeopardised by undue politicking butÂ strengthened for better performance, especially in terms of educational empowerment.
In a related development, the state government has approved various health projects across the state to boost the human capital development plank of the three-point programme of peace and security, human capital and infrastructure development of the administration ofÂ Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan.
