A man identified as Rashidi has gone into hiding after allegedly shooting his two children over their failure to produce their school fees receipts.
As a result of the gun shot injuries the children sustained, they are now in an undisclosed hospital where they are said to be responding to treatment.
The two victims, Aminat (14) and Ahmed (27) were allegedly shot around 10 p.m when they could not immediately produce evidence of payment of the school fees their father had reportedly given to them.
Vanguard gathered that when the two students failed to convince their angry father how they spent the money he gave them as school fees, he allegedly fetched his dane gun and shot the two helpless children at close range.
The deafening sound of the gun and attendant cry for help woke up other co-tenants only to find the two children of the angry man writhing in pains.
While the other co-tenants were said to be busy with taking care of the injured children, the man was said to have bolted away.
When the police were invited to the scene of the crime, the dane gun was reportedly recovered but the suspect had gone into hiding.
Confirming the unfortunate incident, the Oyo State Police PRO, Miss Olabisi Okuwobi, vowed that the command would get the suspect and interrogate him on the alleged crime. She added that the girl, Aminat was rushed to an undisclosed hospital.
