Capello to announce England World Cup squad, today

Football lovers across the globe are waiting with bated breath the release of the  final 23-man England squad for the World Cup holding in South Africa this month.

England Manager, Fabio Capello will release the list today.

The global interest in the English national side stems from the popularity of its league seem by many as the most glamorous  in the world, with English players, not less famous.

Names like John Terry, Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard, Wayne Rooney are famous and have cult follwership in Nigerian cities, as well as,  in other cities around the world. 

Capello had on May 11 released the 30-man provisional list, seen below.

The 30-man list expected to be prunned to 23 inlude:

 Goalkeepers: Joe Hart, David James, Robert Green;

Defenders: Leighton Baines, Jamie Carragher, Ashley Cole, Michael Dawson, Rio Ferdinand, Glen Johnson, Ledley King, John Terry, Matthew Upson, Stephen Warnock;

Midfielders: Gareth Barry, Michael Carrick, Joe Cole, Steven Gerrard, Tom Huddlestone, Adam Johnson, Frank Lampard, Aaron Lennon, James Milner, Scott Parker, Theo Walcott, Shaun Wright-Phillips;

Forwards: Darren Bent, Peter Crouch, Jermain Defoe, Emile Heskey, Wayne Rooney.
