Ado-Ekiti—Fresh and returning students of the University of Education, Ikere-Ekiti, Ekiti State, have been directed to resume immediately.
Its Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Akin Ogunlade, who announced the resumption yesterday at a briefing in Ikere-Ekiti, said full academic activities would begin immediately.
He said arrangements had been concluded to ensure smooth take-off and sustenance of lectures.
The students had been out of campus for a long time as a result of the location crisis that greeted its establishment.
The vice-chancellor stressed the need for the students to return since the controversy over whether the university would eventually remain in the ancient town or not had been resolved by the community and the state government.
In an effort to provide quality teacher education, Ogunlade announced that collaborative plans were under way between the university and some notable world institutions such as Harvard University, U.S.
