It’s nine days to the World Cup and the entire continent is caught in a frenzy. Football fans across the globe, particularly those in the African continent can’t wait to see the tournament begin in South Africa.
It is in that spirit that Starwood hotels, managers of four prime hotels in Nigeria have concluded arrangements with other corporate bodies in the country to establish World Cup viewing centres in all the hotels under their stable.
The project tagged “Football Owambe’, will involve Sheraton Lagos Hotel, Sheraton Abuja Hotel, Le Meridien Ogeyi Place, Port Harcourt and Le Meridien Ibom Hotel and Golf Resort.
Spokesperson for the Starwood Hotels, Nanji Tyem told journalists in Lagos that viewers will be treated to a fun-filled period as they will be allowed to enter a raffle draw after patronising their services.
She said that three of the official sponsors of the 2010 World Cup, Kia Motors, Coca Cola and Sony were very much involved in the project.
