Barely two years after itÂ Â started full banking operations in CoteÂ dâ€™ Ivoire , United Bank for Africa (Cote dâ€™ Ivoire) Limited has been ranked third among leading banks in the West African country according to a survey conducted among the 20 existing banks. SociÃ©tÃ© GÃ©nÃ©ral CI and Ecobank clinched the first and second positions respectively.
The survey published by PME Magazineâ€™s banking edition, CÃ´te dâ€™Ivoireâ€™s top and key economic publication sampledÂ respondents (bank customers) using criteria such as, account opening, account maintenance fees, credit facility, quality of service and e_banking services among others. UBA was adjudged 3rd preferred banking brand among other banks established before it including other Nigerian banks currently operating in the country.
Commenting on the development, Mr. Rasheed Olaoluwa, Chief Executive Officer UBA Africa expressed satisfaction with the impact the bank is making in Cote dâ€™ Ivoire and expressed optimism that the bank would emerge first in subsequent survey owing to its strong fundamentals and professional work force.
Olaoluwa who was enthusiastic about the bankâ€™s bid to ensure sustainable growth and development of the Ivorian economy also said that the UBA brand is gaining momentum in Cote Dâ€™ Ivoire (CDI), attributing it to the positive publicÂ disposition to the bankâ€™s business development and customer service initiatives.
He assured that his team is ready to surmount the challenges posed in doing business in the country and ensure that it sustain and accelerate the tempo even as it hopes to become tops among banks operating in the country.
