This weekend, the biggest and best of Nigerian music stars will recolate to the Northern cities of Yola in far away Adamawa State and Kaduna, capital of Kaduna State as Star, Nigeria’s number one lager beer, storms the two towns as part of the ongoing music concert tour, Star Trek.
In Lafia, last weekend, Wande Coal, M.I, the diminutive black boy from Jos City; the yori yori crooners and Black tribe were among music stars that rocked the city, dishing out exciting music tunes to the delight of all. They were complimented by the all time veteran, Tony One-Week, who, in his usual style, left the crowd screaming for more.
In Abakaliki, it was a celebration for Jose Mourinho’s fans as they thronged Abakaliki in their Inter Milan’s Jerseys in continuation of the victory over Bayern Munich on Saturday night. Unfortunately, for Wande Coal, he could not recover from the fatigue of the previous night performance but the crowd did not miss him as the ever energetic koko master, D’banj and Dr. Sid, both of the Mo’hits crew, stood in for him.
The popular musicians entertained the crowd with popular Mo’hits songs and even some of Wande Coal’s that raised suspicions as to whether the songs were written by D’banj. Other stars on parade on the exciting Saturday night included Mr. Capable a.k.a. Banky W, Black Tribe and Tony One Week.
With four more cities to go in this year’s Star trek, there is no doubt that this year’s show has lived up to expectations.
The 10 city music- concert tour is expected to be rounded off next weekend in Awka and Kwale which were earlier rescheduled.
