The Presidential Task Force for the Super Eagles qualification and participation at the 2010 World Cup have doused every fear of the Nigeria Football Association, NFA over the usurpation of their functions at the World Cup.
Spokesperson of the PTF, Larry Izamoje who briefed the press on the body’s performance so far in Lagos on Thursday said they were only set up to complement the efforts of the NFA and ensure the Eagles qualify for the event.
Izamoje who was flanked at the briefing by two other members and former captains of the national team, Chief Segun Odegbami and Austin Okocha said that after qualification, the next task is to ensure that the Eagles lack nothing as they play in the competition.
“Having qualified for the World Cup, our next task is to support the NFA and see that the Super Eagles don’t lack anything as they participate in the World Cup,†he said, assuring that the PTF would give account of every money raised and spent for the World Cup purpose.
He also dispelled rumours going round that the PTF was sponsoring one of its members for the NFA chairmanship position as he commended both the late president, Alhaji Umaru Musa Yar’Adua and his successor, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan for setting up the task force and supporting it to achieve its set objective.
