Former Nigeria Referees Association, NRA president Dr. Sam Sam Jaja is not a happy man. He can not fathom the low quality preparation Nigeria is putting up as the World Cup draws dangerously near.
Jaja who has never hidden his displeasure in the process that produced Lars Lagerback as Super Eagles technical adviser believes that only a miracle can save Nigeria in South Africa.
With 19 days to the kick-off of the global football fiesta, Nigerians do not know those who will fly her colours in South Africa and   they are equally not aware of the quality of players that Eagles will parade.
“Everybody knows the situation on ground, it is so unfortunate that things are happening like this. The situation is so bad that it will only take God’s divine miracle for us to even scale the group stage.
“While we are yet to play our friendly matches and also know players who will play at the first ever World Cup holding in Africa, other countries have named their players, played friendly matches and are set for the competition proper, we are still planning to assemble players. It is so unfortunate. In terms of preparation we are not there,†he said.
Meanwhile, Lars Lagerback has expressed satisfaction at the fitness of Super Eagles players after last Thursday’s training session and said his focus now will only be on tactics.
Nigeria opens their World Cup campaign with a daunting confrontation against Diego Maradona’s Argentina led by red hot World Player of the year Lionel Messi, but Lagerback says his players must play without fear.
