BENIN—THE Chief of Staff to the President, Chief Mike Ogiadomhe and the Minister of State for Works, Dr Chris Ogienwonyi, weekend, stressed the need for total reconciliation in the Edo State Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, warning that factionalization of the party would further kill the party in the state.
The duo spoke at a well attended reception organised for them by the state PDP, following their recent appointment by President Goodluck Jonathan. Dr Samuel Ogbemudia’s faction of the party, led by its factional chairman, Elder Sunny Uyugue, shunned the occasion.
However, the former Chief of Staff to the state government, Mr Isaiah Osifo, who was a strong member of the group, has now pitched tent with the Chief Anenih group.
Vanguard gathered that Osifo apologised to Chief Anenih for the role he played in the crisis in the state PDP before he was accepted back.
The event was well attended by PDP members in the National Assembly and several party leaders, including its chairman, Chief Dan Orbih, immediate past Minister of Defence, Gen. Godwin Abbe, former Presidential aide and governorship aspirant, Prof. Julius Ihonbvere, Paschal Ugbome, former Chief of Staff to the state government, Mr Isaiah Osifor and others.
He stressed the need for peace in the party.
