NAICOM confirms Igbo Insurance PHB MD

National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) has confirmed Mr. Anselem Igbo as the substantive Managing Director /Chief Executive Officer (MD/CEO) of Insurance PHB Limited.

The confirmation was made known in a letter dated 11th May 2010 to the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Insurance PHB Limited and signed by one MBT Ibrahim, Assistant Director (Authorization and Policy) on behalf of the Commissioner for Insurance.

In part, Ibrahim said “The Commission in exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 13(1) (b) of the Insurance Act 2003 hereby approves the appointment of Mr. Anselem Chidi Igbo as the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Insurance PHB Limited”

Before his appointment in July 2009, as the Managing Director of the company in acting capacity, Igbo was the Managing Director of   Legacy Insurance Brokers Limited.

Anselem is a seasoned Insurer whose experience in the industry spans over a decade. He started his insurance carrier at Central Insurance Company Limited now Linkage Assurance Plc, where he worked in the administration and technical departments.

In 1997, he   joined others to set up DBLS Insurance Brokers (subsidiary of Diamond Bank Plc) thereby gaining insight into regulatory issues.

He is an Associate Member of Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN), a member of Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers (NCRIB) as well as a student member of Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers. He has attended many top management courses from reputable business schools including the Lagos Business School (LBS) and Harvard Business School , America .

Insurance PHB under Igbo’s administration has witnessed changes including returning to profitability and completion of the implementation of a new of a newly acquired operational software handled by one of biggest Asia IT providers, Agilis Financial Solutions Services. Under the just confirmed Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Insurance PHB Limited now settles every genuine claim with 48hours a claim which has been reported and duly documented.

With a technically and professionally strengthened workforce, the company’s speed and quality of service delivery under Anselem Igbo can be compared with that of any grade A-Underwriter anywhere in the world.

In his effort towards steering the company to the realization of its customers’ expectations, the company is continuing the restructuring of its services in all ramifications to sustain its promptness in meeting customers’ needs, especially in the area of claims settlement.
