ANAMBRA State governor, Mr. Peter Peter Obi has warned that henceforth, traditional rulers and presidents -general of the various town unions in the state would be held responsible for armed robbery and kidnapping incidents in the state.
Obi also announce that the state government would set up a board to manage the State Security Trust fund passed into law by the State House of Asembly.
According to him, the Board would determine and regulate the utilization of the fund for better results, explaining that this would further enhance accountability and transparency in line with the policy of his administration.
Addressing the leaders during a meeting in Awka, the governor noted that the monarchs and the town union leaders were supposed to know the criminals in their domains, adding that it would be difficult for any robbery incident to take place in any community without the knowledge of people from that area.
