PORT HARCOURTâ€”Â ACTING President Goodluck Jonathan is expected in Rivers State on Thursday to commission theÂ new 100 megawatts gas turbine facility built by the administration of Governor Chibuike Amaechi at Trans Amadi area of Port Harcourt.
Governor Amaechi, who made this known during a chat with news men, said the acting president was coming to the state on a three day official visit. He said Dr Jonathan would also commission the Eleme junction flyover project, Rumuola-Rumuokwuta road, Oginigba Rumuobiakani road and one of the model primary schools recently completed by his administration.
The governor said preparation was already in top gear to give the acting president a rousy welcome, adding that Dr Jonathan would also use the occasion of the visit to inspect some ongoing projects in the state.
â€œThe acting president would be expectedÂ to see how the stateâ€™s new 24 secondary schools under constructionÂ would look like on completion.
â€œWe would want him to see the Model Secondary School at Eleme and to note how our secondary schools would look like on completion.
â€œOther engagements of the acting president include the foundation laying ceremony of the New Adokiye Amesiemaka Stadium and the Games Village projectÂ at the Greater Port Harcourt site, lay the foundation stone for the Port Harcourt Mono-rail project by Station Bus stop in Port Harcourt, while the Ogoni-Andoni-Opobo Unity Road, and the Port Harcourt-Omerelu-Owerri Road would be inspected as well.â€
Governor Amaechi said the Bonny road project would top the list of requests that would be presented to the august visitor .
Jonathan is also expected to attendÂ the convocation ceremony of the University of Port HarcourtÂ during the visit.
