The Leadership of Jonathan 2011, a political pressure group in the PDP, has thrown its weight behind the candidature of President Goodluck Jonathan in the 2011 general election and the re-election of Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan of Delta State for a second term in office.
Members of the group who rose from ameeting in Asaba, Delta State, vowed to remove all encumbrances capable of stalling the attainment of their objectives.
A leading member of the group, Chief Theodora Giwa- Amu, contended that President Goodluck Jonathan had all it takes to contest the presidential election in 2011.
ChiefÂ Giwa-Amu, who is the South-South Zonal Woman leader of the PDP, declared her interest to contest the Aniocha/Oshimili Federal constituency seat in the National Assembly in 2011 election, and insisted that the time had come for the people of Oshimili to take a shot at the National Assembly in the interest of fairness and justice.
Earlier in his remarks,Â Delta State facilitator ofÂ Jonathan 2011 group, Chief Emma Ogbeh, explained the rational behind the formation of the group, adding that it was formed to promote good governance and purposeful leadership anchored on social justice and equity.
