The remains of former Order of Merit leader Christian Godfrey will be interred today in Abuja.
The Golf Course gathered from friends of the late golfer that Godfrey who passed on last week alongside another professional golfer Ali Abdullahi will be committed to mother earth today in a quiet ceremony.
According to Andrew Oche Odoh, a close friend to the late golfer, Abuja based pro golfers have finalised plans to support the family of the late IBB Golf and Country Club member.
â€œI do not know what the PGAN is planning to do but Abuja based professional golfers have finalised plans to support the family of late Christian Godfrey. The golfer who tied the nuptial knots few years ago took the golf scene by storm and rose to become one of the best golfers in the country. He is the first pro golfer to win the President Cup back-to-back.
PGAN Tournament Director Dominic AndrewÂ Â last week described Godfrey has one golfer whose guts has seen him improve tremendously. Accodring to him, Godfrey proved that with determination, guts and skill a golfer can make a solid impact in the game.
Port Harcourt based pro golfer Mike Ubi lauded the golfer, stating that he is one of the best golfers in the country as at today. â€œWe will miss Godfrey and Ali, both players were at their peak when they passed on and it is a big loss to the golfing community as a wholeâ€, he said.
