CHAIRMAN of Enyimba International of Aba, Chief Felix Anyansi-Agwu and midfielder David Tyakasia, have predicted the fall of Congo’s AS Vita FC when both sides meet this weekend in Aba in the return leg of the CAF Confederation Cup Championship.
Enyimba did not only suffer a 3-0 bashing from the Congolese side during the first leg of the match, but were also manhandled and subjected to undue harassment by the club’s fans. But Anyansi-Agwu and Tyakasia said they have pushed their nightmarish experience in Congo behind.
“If they can score us three goals there, we can equally outscore them here to get to the next round and I urge all our fans to come and cheer us to victory,†Tyakasia said.
The club boss said, “our focus is on qualification. Enyimba must qualify for the next round of the championship. We have put behind us the assault and molestation we suffered in the hands of the Congolese and we are all looking ahead to the return game here at Enyimba Stadium Aba next (this) weekend.
We are not talking about the past, it’s gone and it’s gone. We won‘t repay evil with evil. We are going to be nice to them (AS Vita of Congo) but beat them in the field of play. We are doing our best to boost the players morale.
Apparently to show their strong will to score goals, Enyimba humiliated Niger Tornadoes 3-1 in a re-scheduled League match. After the match, Anyansi-Agwu said that his wards would turn the table against the Congolese.
