2011 pageantry: Devon soap seeks global recognition

From 2011, the once Delta soap pageant will become Orange Beauty Pageant, whilst the winner of the pageant will be known to as Miss Devon, as it seeks international statues.

The company, Orange Drugs Limited, marketers of Delta and Devon soaps, as well other drugs: like Medic 55, and Boska, said the change in name of the beauty pageant was necessitated by Devon soap trying to carve a niche for itself.

Speaking, Sir Tony Ezenna, Chairman of Orange Drugs, said the company’s quest for excellence has pushed it to raised the bar in beauty pageant in the country, while stressing that the high standards includes all ramifications, the value of the prizes, “are part of the testimonies to show how high we have raised the bar in beauty pageant.”

Ezenna went on to say that with effect from 2011, the beauty contest will be called the Orange Beauty Pageant, as the star prize winner for the 2011 contest will be known as Miss Devon.

He pointed out that the star prize winner will receive a car and other exotic prizes. The first runner up in the contest will be known as Miss Delta; and she will equally get a car and other  watering prizes.

Continued, he said, “the second runner up will be known as Miss Passion; and will cart home a cash prize also, as well the fourth prize winner to take home cash prizes.”

The chairman noted that as from 2011, the Orange Beauty Pageant will also become an international pageant as girls from other countries will be eligible to contest.

Prizes for the 2010 winners were thus: the winner received a new 3 series BMW car; 2010 Model,  will collect the sum of N2,500,000 (Two Million five hundred thousand Naira); The sum of USD10,000 (Ten thousand United States Dollars); and an all expenses paid trip to United States of America (USA) or any European country of her choice.

The first runner -up will receive the sum of N1.5 Million (One Million, five hundred thousand Naira). The second Runner -up will take home the sum of N1.0 Million (One Million Naira); The third runner -up will  receive the sum of N500,000.00 (Five hundred thousand Naira); while the 4th Runner up carts home the sum of N250,000.00 (Two hundred and fifty thousand Naira).
