‘Time has come for us to hold our leaders accountable’

By  Akoma CHINWEOKE
An Imo State based politician and managing consultant with Platinum Alliance Ltd, Sir Uche Iheakanwa, has blamed the country’s leaders for the high rate of kidnaping in the country describing it as rebellion against a government and people who have failed to check looting and extreme fraudulent practices by leading public officials.

Iheakanwa who disclosed this recently in Lagos while receiving members of his South East Youth Action vanguard pointed out that in the zone today,  leaders whom the people had put their hopes on to help salvage the root causes of their underdevelopment have made a mockery of the will and desire of the people.

‘I believe our various state governments can and must do more to better the lives of our youth and most importantly with no additional cost to them and this we have to do urgently for time is of the essence.

The truth is that the economy of the South East will collapse in two years if our people can not return to invest in their homeland with out fear, for the business of kidnaping is not self sustaining.

So I ask you the youth to challenge our very corrupt leaders including any corrupt traditional rulers for time has come for us to hold them accountable’
