Wolves swoop on Flying Antelopes in Warri

Warri Wolves  moved an inch closer to realizing their ambition of lifting the Globacom Premier League trophy, recording their sixth away draw last Wednesday against Bayelsa United, leaving Yenagoa with a  2-2 scoreline, enough to earn the Delta State side a point from the mid-week game.

Wolves, still basking in the euphoria of a CAF Confederations Cup win, travelled to Yenagoa, confident of a good outing. Goals from Ifeanyi Okoye in the 36th minute and Oke Akpoveta in the 82nd minute ensured that the Warri side moved up a place on the league table.

Wolves, presently enjoying tremendous support from Delta State Sports Commission chairman Pinnick Amaju and Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan, have vowed to lift the league trophy this season.

Tomorrow, the Pinnick Amaju led side will be hosting the Flying Antelopes in a titanic week 28 battle in Warri. Nothing short of good football will be in the offing as Warri fans expects nothing less.  The last time, both sides met in Oleh, Rangers left with a point in their kitty and this time around, Warri Wolves players have vowed to secure the maximum points.

After 27 matches in the on-going Globacom Premier League, Rangers and Wolves are tied on  42 points each and are placed fourth and fifth respectively.

“We will be taking on Warri Wolves and we know how to handle them. They are a tough side, one of the best in the league, we can not but be careful when both sides meet tomorrow”, Foster Chime, Rangers Media officer said.
