Asaba — Delta State chapter of Action Congress, AC, has vowed to unseat the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the 2011 gubernatorial elections in the state, notwithstanding the exit of Mr. Peter Okocha from the party.
Rising from a meeting in Asaba, weekend, AC in a communique pointed out that the job ahead of the party was an onerous one.
According to the party, the massive registration of new members into the party will soon commence.
The communique signed by the state Chairman of the party, Chief Sam Egwerome, and State Secretary, Chief Duncan Ewher, enjoined party faithful to remain steadfas.
It said, “Action Congress has not been taken over by any person or group of persons as it is being erroneously portrayed by some mischief makers.
“Leaders and stakeholders would, henceforth, not join issues with any person or group of persons, but we will make sure that our activities are issues-driven.â€
“Rumour merchants were bent on discouraging our followers and party faithful and their intention is to make Action Congress an unattractive platform for would-be aspirantsâ€.
