LAGOS—ETHIOPIAN Aviation expert, Mr. Kinfa Fekado, was yesterday appointed Chief Executive Officer of Virgin Nigeria which was recently acquired by Barrister Jimoh Ibrahim.
Fekado, 47, was until his appointment by the board of Virgin Nigeria, the Chief Operating Officer of Ethiopia Airline. He has over 32 years experience in aviation.
He takes over from Capt. Dapo Olumide, who until yesterday was CEO of Virgin Nigeria. The Board also appointed two Executive Directors: Steven Ojo, ED, Accounts and Finance as well as Tadafera, ED, Treasury.
The Board which met in Lagos, advised Olumide to handover to Fekado. Olumide was expected at the Board meeting but he didn’t show up and gave no reasons for his action.
The Board also approved the opening of letter of credit for the purchase of two new aircraft. The purchase will be financed by United Bank for Africa, UBA.
