Union Bank assures on national economic devt

Union Bank of Nigeria PLC has restated its commitment towards the rapid socio-economic development of the country, just as it promised to continue to reward its numerous customers for their patronage and loyalty.

The Bank’s Group Managing Director/Chief Executive, Mrs. Funke Osibodu, stated this at the fifth Regional Draw of the Bank’s Savings Bonanza held in Lagos recently, and attended by top customers and other eminent Nigerians.

Mrs. Osibodu, who was represented by the Executive Director (Commercial and Retail Banking – South and Consumer Banking), Mr. Adekunle Adeosun at the event, reminded the guests that the Savings Bonanza was undertaken by the Bank, to leverage on its extensive branch network and strength in retail and consumer banking in order to mobilise deposits from widely dispersed savers, especially the small-scale ones.

She added that such funds would be used to support productive real sector investments, thereby facilitating rapid economic growth in the country.

She observed that customers who responded positively to the Bank’s Savings Bonanza had not only increased their savings, but also stood the chance of winning some of the outstanding prizes on offer.
A total of 100 motorcycles and 15 brand new Toyota Corolla cars had been won so far, while more 80 motorcycles and 21 cars would be won in the outstanding Regional Draw slated for Abuja and the Grand Finale.

The lucky winners of the brand new Toyota Corolla cars at the Lagos Regional Draw were Messrs. Ishola Saidi of the Bank’s Okokomaiko branch and Pius Ibe of Ogba branch as well as Mrs. Maria Okonkwo of Balogun branch.

Twenty (20) customers won brand new motorcycles, while the Bank also gave out attractive consolation prizes to other numerous customers that attended the event.

The Savings Bonanza, which was officially launched last March, was designed to promote savings habit among the people.
