DIAMOND Bank Plc, quoted on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) has continued to put smiles on the faces of its customers since it began its savings promo as the latest two winners in the Salary for Life Star Prize are to get a total sum of N48 million for 20 years.
The Bank stated that its SavingsXtra Season 2 is another ground breaking rewards scheme in which Diamond Bank pledged to pay 24 lucky customers, each to receive a sum of N100, 000 every month for the next 20 years, amounting a total ofÂ N576 million .
The SavingsXtra â€œSalary for Lifeâ€ Season 2 campaign is a continuation of the Bankâ€™s SavingsXtra customer reward scheme it launched last year to reward its customers. The Bank made history in the first phase of the campaign when it gave away a whooping sum of N50 million to two of its customers as the star prize.
The commencement of the SavingsXtra Season 2 draw which took place in Abuja recently saw Egbe Stephen Mary of Maiduguri Shehu Laminu way branch in Bornu State and Ikechukwu Nwahiri of Benin Mission Road branch in Edo State emerged the two latest â€œSalary 4 Lifeâ€ star prizes winners which entitles them to a monthly income of N100, 000 thousand Naira for the next twenty years respectively.
The new winners emerged in the â€œSalary for Lifeâ€ Star Prize in the Diamond Savingsxtra Season 2 reward scheme draw for March 2010.At the draw also, ten customers won N500,000 cash each, while 25 others won prizes including, Motorcycles, LCD Television Sets, Generators, Laptops and Air Conditioners.Addressing the audience at the event, the Senior Adviser Retail Banking, Garry Marsh, said that the SavingsXtra reward scheme has been a resounding success so far and all the objectives behind SavingsXtra scheme have been achieved. â€œWe are glad that we have come this far in the reward scheme.
In the first phase of the campaign, we succeeded in transforming the lives of many people in such a manner that will remain evergreen in theirs minds for the rest of their lives, and we hope to achieve the same thing in this second season of the scheme. We are already doing wonderful things in the lives of our customers and we intend to keep the good work up, as we continue to deliver top quality service to our customers,â€ he stated.
Similarly, John Anyanwu, an IT Manager representing KPMG, stated that since the inception of the draws in 2008, Diamond Bank had remained consistent with the outlined rules and guidelines for the draws. â€œThere is absolute transparency in the draws and I can assure everybody that all the results from the draws so far have remained credible and transparent. I can equally testify that the draw held here today is in line with all the laid down procedures guiding this scheme.Â All eligible account holders participated, and no customer was given undue advantage.
All winners emerged from a free and fair draw process,â€ he stated. For a customer to qualify to participate in Diamond Banks SavingsXtra reward scheme, a customer is required to have a minimum balance of N5,000 in his SavingsXtra account. New customers, however, will be required to open a SavingsXtra account and maintain a minimum balance of N5, 000 until the qualifying date for the draw which is the 28th of every month.It would be recalledÂ recently, James Umaru Mbugadu, a civil servant from Nasarawa State, became the first person to be presented with the promoâ€™s N50million star prize cheque. Mbugadu now plans to disengage gradually from the civil service and go into private business.
There is also Adamu Abdullahi of Nigerian Prisons Service (NPS) who won N10million and got cheque the same time Mbugadu got his.
This is apart from many others across the country that have won various prizes including N1million, cars, LCD televisions, power generating sets, air conditioners and music iPods, etc.Other past winners in Salary for life winner include Babangida Mailafiya, aged 58, a Lafia-based retiree. According to him,
â€œ It came like a miracle for me and right now I am a satisfied man. I use the money to pay my childrenâ€™s school fees. I have two children in the university and four in secondary schools. Life and paying their fees would have been something else without the Diamond Bank. My children are really happy in school and they are very proud to be Nigerians now. Another winner, Amadi Cordelia, in Abuja, Salary for life winner who won after losing her job said, â€œ
I must confess that it has helped me a lot especially knowing that I won soon after I lost my job. I am still looking for work though, but right now I am going into property business. I though about buying a bus and running a transport outfit but I was discouraged by the risk. I then decided to buy land.
I had money in my account so I combined it and negotiated for a piece of land. In another development, Mr. Luke Benedict Ibanga, became the latest beneficiary of the Bankâ€™s numerous consumer rewards, when he emerged winner of a free loan repayment in the first phase of the Honda/Diamond Bank special auto loan schemeâ€™s draw which held in Lagos recently.
