Runsewe drags German Pro Golf teachers to Nigeria

IBB Golf and Country Club member,  Otunba Segun Runsewe has concluded plans for some German pro golf teachers to visit the country.

Runsewe who led Nigeria delegation to International Travel exchange(ITB) in Berlin  had a fruitful discussion with the Berlin-based professional  golf teachers to come to Nigeria to teach golf, using modern  technology that  makes playing golf an easy exercise.

Runsewe, who led a delegation to Berlin Mitte Golf office  in Markgrafentstrabe,  where the agreement  was reached described it as a  milestone in the annals of golfing in the country, even as he noted that  golf remains one of the world’s greatest driver of tourism .

“This agreement is a milestone because with this kind of training facilities, the face of golfing in Nigeria  will change in its  entirety,” Runsewe noted.  “ As you know, golf attracts tourists in  droves from all over  the world. So, Nigeria will gain a lot from the  development of the game .”

Runsewe described the training facilities of the German professional golf teachers as second to none,  noting that when they come to Nigeria, it would aid the development of the game.  “The teaching  facilities here are world class and it would aid those  who are interested in playing golf to learn the game without much  stress. We don’t have this kind of learning facilities in Nigeria,  that is the reason I want to bring them to Nigeria,” Runsewe stated.

Runsewe also used the occasion to laud the tourism potential of the  game of golf, noting that golf  lover’s travel all over the world with the game and stated that Nigerian cannot be different.  “Golf lovers  follow their stars  everywhere in the world and if we  can attract world class golfers to Nigeria, it  would have attendant  effect on our tourism because they will stay in hotels and spend  foreign currency in the country.”

The German Golf  professional teachers, including Simon Woldeghiorghis  of Top swing Golfschule and  Patrick Albretch of Golf Berlin Mitte were full of excitement as according to them, they look forward to  visiting Nigeria to train Nigerian golfers.  “ I am really happy to have the opportunity  to visit Nigeria to  train  golfers and impact  knowledge. All I do is teach golf, my life is  all about golf and I can’t wait to teach golf to Nigerians.

I believe  that Nigeria would present an opportunity to provide professional trainings. I am really eager to come to Nigeria,” Simon said.

On his sown part, Patrick said he would be looking forward to visit Nigeria to impact knowledge in  Golf. “ I am willing to visit Nigeria to teach golf because that is all I  live for. I am happy,” Patrick  stated.
