…opposes Labour on his removal

ABUJAâ€”Supporters of the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Professor Maurice Iwu have begun the collection of signatures of 15 million Nigerians to counter organised Labourâ€™s opposition to his reappointment.
The group under the aegis of Alliance for Defence of Democracy, ADD, led by Mr. Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere were at the National Assembly yesterday to start the process.
Mr. Ogochinyere stated that the group will move across the entire country to collect the signatures, which would then be forwarded to the National Assembly and the Presidency for the legislature to evaluate the goodwill of Professor Iwu among the Nigerian people.
He said, â€œWe are hereby commencing the registration of Nigerians who are in support of Iwuâ€™s continued stay, believing that for the last time, enough is enough as the machinations and subterranean moves of a few who do not mean well for the nation must be stopped. I wish to announce on behalf of the alliance that the collection of 15 million Nigeria people signature for the struggle to protect our electoral process has commenced.
â€œThe signatures will be collected on state basis as our members have been stationed to commence the collection. When fully collected, it will be presented to the Presidency and the National Assembly.”
