IN a conscious bid to earnestly prepare for the proposed reforms in the oil & gas industry currently before the National Assembly, Nipco plc has embarked on series of actions to make its workforce unearth the inherent benefits to the company and the nation as a whole.
Nipco, an indigenous petroleum products marketing company floated by indigenous fuel marketers brought egg heads in the sector to prepare its personnel on what deregulation holds in stock for the scores of stakeholders in the industry.
Speaking at the flag off of one of the initiative ,the Managing Director of the company Girish Sanadhya said proper understanding of the basic premise upon which the on going reform will be predicated upon is very imperative for the human capital that will drive its implementation .
Represented by the Senior Manager, Sales and Marketing of the company Victor Adeyemi at an awareness / sensitization training programme with the theme: Downstream Oil Deregulation – Prospects & Challenges ,the Nipco CEO noted that the topic is very apt and timely in view of the proposed transformation of Nigeriaâ€s oil and gas industry as elucidated in the Petroleum Industry Bill [PIB].
The 2 day event which was put together by the company with the technical support of Hybrid Consulting Limited among other things gave insight on the likely consequences of the reform on key players in the sector and the populace as the end users of the nationâ€s hydrocarbon resources.
Mr Sanadhya stressed that for the company to remain a major force to reckon with in the industry its key personnel must be well exposed to relevant industry information that will enable them to act proactively and operate optimally .
The Nipco MD also noted that the event also seeks at value creation for the companyâ€s shareholders and stakeholders with the ultimate aim of making it tower above its contemporaries in the industry.
