Â ABUJA – GOVERNORS of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP yesterday met with the leadership of the party as part of ways to find a lasting solution to the lingering political imbroglio in the party.
Â The meeting which started at 8.30 pm and ended 10.35pm was held at the Kwara State Governorâ€™s Lodge, Asokoro.
Governors of Ekiti, Enugu, Katsina, Delta, Jigawa, Bauchi, AkwaIbom, Kaduna, Nasarawa, Ogun and Plateau were in attendance.
Â Also present at the meeting which had in attendance, the National Chairman of PDP, Prince Vincent Ogbulafor, the Deputy National Chairman, Haliru Bello Mohammed, the National Secretary, Abubakar Baraje, were governors of Adamawa, Kwara, Cross River, Gombe, Oyo, Imo, Rivers, Zamfara, among others.
The governors were at the meeting to strategize for the today’s National Executive Committee, NEC meeting. Though an Abuja Court had on Monday stopped the party from going ahead of the meeting, but indications emerged at the meeting yesterday that the meeting would hold following the fact that the governors were said to have claimed that they never saw the Court Order.
Â Ogbulafor while coming out of the meeting simply said he was there for a personal reason.
At the end of the meeting, the Chairman, Governorsâ€™ Forum and Kwara State governor, Dr. Bukola Saraki when asked by Journalists on the outcome of the meeting, however declined to comment, but said they met with Acting President Goodluck Jonathan earlier in the day where they made the groupâ€™s position known and he had briefed the state House Correspondents.
