WARRI — THE matriarch of Rewane family of Warri, Delta State, Chief Florence Elemi Rewane, has stated that those who killed her brother, Pa. Alfred Rewane, would never know peace in their life time.
Chief Rewane, aged 80, insisted that the Police arrested the wrong people.
She expressed regret that the Nigeria Police had not been able to trace the real killers of her brother since he was fell by the assassin’s bullet in1995 in his own bedroom in Lagos, charging them to wake up to their responsibility.
Madam Rewane, who also is the Ejumotan of Warri Kingdom, made these remarks during a special thanksgiving service at the Christ African Church, Odion Road, Warri, weekend, to mark her 80th birthday anniversary and public presentation and launching of the Praise and Worship Hymn book in Itsekiri language.
Gratitude to God
Rewane said she had cause to thank God Almighty for attaining the age of 80 years which signified the breaking of the jinx, following the inability of any of her siblings to attain that age.
She maintained that the killers of Pa. Rewane would continue to run from pillar to post for the rest of their lives unless they own up and seek forgiveness from God.
The grandmother thanked God for all His mercies and favour in her life and admonished all to put God first in all their undertaking, saying He was the only source of life.
In attendance at the occasion were prominent Chiefs from across Edo and Delta states.
