UMUAHIA— ABIA State Governor, Chief Theodore Orji has been described as a stabilizing factor in the state as well as father of all because of his large heart disposition.
The State Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, John Nwokocha said in a statement that this was the assessment of the people, based on the fact that the 17 Local Government areas in the state have witnessed unprecedented transformation.
Nwokocha said that to reciprocate the good works of the Governor, the people had continued to honour him with grand receptions in various communities.
Noting that sanity has returned to the state, the Commissioner urged the people to disregard rumours of insecurity in Abia, stressing that it was politically motivated.
He said: ‘There is a lot of political undertone in it. It’s quite unfortunate that those who are bent on destabilising the state are orchestrating the unfounded rumour to destroy a state that they will someday in the future return.â€
On the $200m Word Bank loan, Nwokocha stated “we are on track, Chief T.A.Orji has a good record to attract such loan,†adding that the World Bank’s country director, Mr. Onno Ruhl has expressed confidence in the ability of Abia State to pay back the loan, during his official visit of the state.
