Oji—The Chairman of Oji-River Local Government Area in Enugu State, Mr Gab Onuzulike has presented 2010 budget estimate to the legislative council. Tagged ‘Budget of Light’, its stands at N1.33billion.
Onuzulike noted that with the drive of his administration, the budget estimate would be realised, adding that a ten man-revenue committee had been inaugurated in each of the three development areas of the council to ensure that the target becomes a reality.
The budget will be funded from taxes, rates, local license earning from commercial undertakings, statutory allocations from the Federal and State Governments to realise the estimate.
On identified areas of concern to the council, Onuzulike noted that the reticulation and laying of ten inches cast pipes across Oji-Achi-Awgu Asphalt Road and Achi-Inyi-Awlaw-Owerri-Ezukali Road will take a large chunk of the budget.
Speaking after the presentation, the leader of Oji River Council, Mr Eugene Madubuko said that few months after the administration of the chairman came on board, he had shown that he was a transparent man, who can be trusted to fulfil his promises and assured that the legislative council will speedily ensure that the budget was passed.
