LAGOS State took yet another giant step in sports when it inaugurated a committee saddled with the responsibility of introducing American football to the state and Nigeria in general.
Speaking while inaugurating the board headed by Barrister Dudu Orumen, Sports Commissioner Adeniji Adele said that young men with a lot of energy should channel their energy to big sport which equally fetches big money.
He said that Governor Babatunde Fashola would inaugurate the board at a later date but urged them to make it compatible with what obtains in America.
The Commissioner said that he was hopeful that the professionals charged with the duty of establishing the sport in the state would do a thorough job that would be replicated in other areas.
Chairman Dudu Orumen said that they were challenged to leave a legacy in American football to the numerous legacies being left by sports-loving Governor Fashola. He promised that they have competent and specialised people in the board to use sports to build society..
