Jonathan’s US visit opens new investment vista for Nigeria – Ajumogobia

ABUJA—THE Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Odien Ajumogobia, SAN, yesterday, on arrival with Acting President Goodluck Jonathan at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, from the United States, US, said the visit to the US by Jonathan has re-launched Nigeria into global reckoning and business investment.
Ag. President Jonathan, who was in US for five days, on the invitation of President Barack Obama, where he attended the 50-nation World Nuclear Security Summit, arrivedAbuja yesterday.
The Presidential aircraft carrying the Ag. President and other top government functionaries landed at the presidential wing of the airport at 10:30 a.m.
On hand to receive Jonathan were four ministers including that of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Senator Bala Mohammed; Aviation, Ms. Fidelia Njeze; Interior, Captain Emmanuel Iheanacho and Special Duties, Navy-Captain Ernest Olubolade (rtd).
Speaking at arrival, Ajumogobia said: “It was a very successful visit and I think it is important that Nigeria engages with the world again and I think we did so in a very open and successful way.”
He also said that the meeting between the Acting President and US President was very important as it showed the goodwill Nigeria enjoys worldwide.
“The meeting between President Obama and the Acting President was very successful and I think it is very important, there is a lot of goodwill, enormous goodwill for Nigeria outside Nigeria,†the minister said.
He added that the administration will do everything possible to “take advantage of that goodwill, for the betterment of Nigeria.â€
He said though the trip was short, it was exciting as everyone was keen to meet the Acting President.
