Jimoh Ibrahim under pressure to contest Ondo Guber polls

After he lost the bid to become governor of his home state, Ondo, seven years ago, his ambition to put in place a legacy of a first class human and economic development in his state seems not to have waned.

Beyound the shores of business which he controls with a steady measure of success on a yearly basis, some people still believe he has the magic wand to turn around the state for better. To achieve this, some group of politicians are mounting pressure on the billionaire, Jimoh Ibrahim to contest the gubernatorial election in Ondo state come the next governorship election in the state.

Societywatch gathered that the politicians who are members of PDP family, believed that power has to return to the party after losing it to Labour Party last year when ex-governor Olusegun Agagu was ousted by the court. This according to source is only achievable by dragging the billionaire into race.

Jimoh Ibrahim

We gathered that arrangement is ongoing to make Jimoh Ibrahim declare publicly for the party in Ondo state where party chieftains both from the state and national levels will be present.

Sources further hinted that when this was being considered, the name of former NNPC boss, Funsho Kupolokun came up but was later jettisoned because of the comparative advantage the Jimoh Ibrahim candidacy has over him to give the incumbency the run for his money.  Ibrahim is said to have the ruggedness, the shrewdness, popularity, and the cash not only to send cold up the spine of the incumbent but also to win the polls for the PDP.

Attempts to get Jimoh Ibrahim speak on this issue failed.

Even as he posseses what it takes to keep the wolf from the door, will he succumb to pressure to contest?
