When Vanguard got to the scene of the incident, about 30 industrial machines used for sewing and many bed sheets were completely burnt down.

vehicles and few fire fighters were seen trying to prevent the fire from spreading to other parts of the building.

The immediate cause of the fire was not known, but some workers of the hospital who stood in clusters were saying it was an electrical fault that ignited the fire.

Some journalists who got to the spot earlier alleged that they got some uncomplimentary remarks from the Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Professor Abiodun Ilesanmi who must have been emotionally disturbed seeing the extent of damage.
