UYOâ€”Akwa Ibom State governor, Chief Godswill Akpabio, has given the assurance that his administration would continue to focus on the creation of more opportunities for all indigenes and residents to maximize their potentials in the state.
This was contained in his Easter message to the people of the state through a state wide broadcast on yesterday.
Governor Akpabio charged the followers of Christ to let the Easter celebration serve as a new direction in life and imbibe virtues of respect for constituted authorities.Â he also charged the people to refrain from the path of deceit.
Akpabio,while acknowledging the humility and sacrifice of Jesus Christ for mankind, also enjoined the Christian fold to recommit themselves on sacrificial efforts of lifting up other individuals and the status of the state, stressing â€œlet us remember to pray for our state and continued divine direction of our leaders.â€
Chief Akpabio advised leaders to remainÂ accountable to God first and, then the people by purging their hearts from â€œhatred and bitterness,â€ with strong resolve to do away with â€œtendencies that are inimical to the progress of the state.â€
