Jos – Two persons aged 25 and 15 were last Wednesday reportedly killed at Dakyo, a village near Kuru in Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State by suspected Fulani men when they took cows for grazing.
The corpse of one of them was recovered in a bush on Thursday while the 25 year old identified as Ishaku Mallam is still missing along with the 37 cows they took for grazing.
They had reportedly left Turu village and gone to Dakyo which is some kilometers away to feed the cows when they were attacked.
The father of one of the deceased said they became worried when they had not returned by 6pm on the fateful day as a result of which a search was conducted the next day which eventually resulted in the discovery of his son’s corpse in a bush with the head almost severed from the body.
Spokesman of Plateau Police Command Assistant Superintendent Mohammed Lerama confirmed the incident but said investigations are ongoing.
The attack occurred just as a peace meeting was held among stakeholders at the Gbong Gwom’s palace where all agreed to sheath the sword and explore the peace option in resolving their differences.
