Teachers laud lawmaker

UGHELLI—THE Nigeria Union of Teachers, NUT, Ughelli South Local Government Area chapter, has commended the member representing the area in  Delta State House of Assembly, Taleb Tebite, for his contribution to the educational advancement of the area.

It also commended the government of Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan and his deputy, Professor Amos Utuama, for its people-oriented programmes and projects.

The union in a letter, addressed to Tebite, copy of which was made available to Vanguard at Ughelli, said the contribution of Tebite to the educational growth of the area was enormous.

The letter read: “The union and the entire teachers of both public primary and post-primary schools at Ughelli South most sincerely write to commend and appreciate you and the PDP-led government of Delta State over your monumental contributions towards the development of education in the local government.

“We are particularly grateful to you for generously donating exercise books and writing materials to all pupils and students of public primary and post-primary schools at Ughelli South.

“Donation of textbooks to all pupils and students of public primary and post-primary schools at Ughelli South, donation of chairs and desks to public primary and post-primary institutions in Ughelli South.

“Donation of tricycles (keke NAPEP) for youths empowerment in Ughelli South and donation of various medical facilities and appliances to all hospitals and community health centres within Ughelli South.

“Finally, we salute you for your consistent prosecution of the three-point agenda of Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan’s government of Delta State. We recognize and appreciate the fact that yours is a call to service and service to humanity.”

“We pledge, on behalf of ourselves and teachers of public primary and post-primary schools at Ughelli South, to support your political agenda in totality come 2011. We pray God to continually bless and protect you.”
