ABUJAâ€”THE Supreme Court has fixed April 20, this year for hearing in an appeal filed by the pioneer Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Chief Chekwas Okorie challenging the decision of the Court of Appeal in Abuja which upheld his expulsion from the party.
In the hearing notice issued by the apex court on February 11, 2010, the court said â€œthe above motion will be listed for hearing before the Supreme Court of Nigeria sitting at Abuja on Tuesday, April 20, 2010
In the motion on notice dated January 22, 2010, Chekwas prayed the apex court for â€œan order of interlocutory injunction restraining Chief Victor Umeh and 11 other respondents from appropriating the powers of the APGA (1st appellant/applicant) to field for the 1st appellant, candidate for the February 6, 2010 Anambra State Governorship Election and from parading or holding out any person(s) except, Hon. George Ozodinobi and Hon. (Dr.) Okey Umeano as the candidates of the 1st appellant/applicant for the said election pending the determination of the appealâ€.
