BENIN—Edo State governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, has felicitated with the new Primate of the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), Most Rev Nicholas Dikenriehi Okoh, on his elevation in the service of the Lord.
The governor, in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Peter Okhiria, said:  “I have noted your steady growth to become the head of the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), the largest flock of Anglicans in the whole world.
“Having known your antecedents, I have no doubt in my mind that you will stand to be counted at this critical time when the need for courageous and fearless men of God has become even more imperative.
“Even as you feed the flock of the Lord with the word of God, there is also the need to teach them to shun corruption which has eaten very deep into the fabrics of the nation, and the need to teach them to shun other vices that will not promote the nation’s image in good light either at home or abroad.
“Also, there is the need to let the flock know that the doctrine of “one man, one vote†must count at the next elections if the nation must move forward politically, and the need for them to be prepared to defend their votes.
“I believe that if the issues of corruption and credible elections are adequately tackled, other sundry problems facing the nation would be solved in no time at all.â€
