Oshiomhole assures on equity
BENIN—Edo State governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, has spoken of his desire to distribute the resources of the state equitably. He made the pledge at Government House, Benin City, weekend, when he received leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo Central and loyalists of Professor Oserheimen Osunbor who defected to Action Congress.
In his word: “I want to assure the people of Esan land that we would try the best we can to be equitable with geo-political distribution of appointment and of development.’’  He added that before the end of March, government would flag off the construction of Irrua-Ugbegua road.
Comrade Oshiomhole assured the new AC members that there would be no discrimination against them whatsoever. He, however, advised them to avoid factionalisation, as it would compromise the strength of their membership.
Speaking on behalf of Prof Osunbor’s loyalists who decamped to Action Congress, Clement Ehebha said the move had become imperative as PDP leaders have openly declared their support and loyalty to the bold steps being taken by the governor to free the people the tyranny.
According to him, “the cause for which God Almighty raised Comrade Adams Oshiomhole is daily becoming evident. Never in the political history of Midwest and Edo State have we witnessed the current level of political dialectics. Edo people had virtually given up hope of political emancipation,†he said.
Among those who decamped to the Action Congress on the occasion were Elder KB Akhimien, Barrister PA Ogbebor, Elder John Ilenre, Mr Reben Aigbuza, Mr Vincent Ayo and AVM Greg Agboneni (rtd).
