The Nigerian Bottling Company (NBC), said on Monday that water accounts for 85 per cent of its production processes.Â Based on this, the company said it has therefore madeÂ water purification and preservation a major plank of its corporate social responsibility.
â€œNBC PLC has over the years, promoted the cause for clean and safe water for all through its water stewardship,â€ said Mr Gbenga Lukan during the celebration of World water day held in Lagos.
According to him, the company uses clean treated water for beverages , stressing that they have over the years invested in water saving technologies.
He said that recycle water from the companyâ€™s effluent treatment plants are well treated before being discharge to the community to a level that supports aquatic life and for farming.
He noted that they have long recognised thatÂ water is very essential for the survival of any living things and plants and it is also used for the production of certain chemicals and goods adding that humans remain the largest consumer of water as we used it for domestic work such as cooking, bathing, washing etc.
