Umuahia—The Traditional ruler of Abiriba community in Ohafia Local Government Area of Abia State, Eze Kalu Ogbu, has urged all aggrieved parties in the community to eschew rancour, join him and the rest of the community to restore peace in the community.
The Traditional ruler, who made the appeal in Abiriba, at the occasion of his reinstatement as the rightful Enachioken of Abiriba, said that the community would not make progress without necessary support and urged aggrieved parties to team up with the rest of the community to bring back the glorious days of Abiriba.
The traditional stool of (Enachioken) Abiriba was in contention for seven years. Some members of the community in 2003, had challenged in court, the decision of the elders in the selection of the present Enachioken, Kalu Ogbu.
Based on the judgement in the suit, which favoured the incumbent Traditional ruler and the proclamation of Governor Theodore Orji of Abia State, the Abiriba community on Monday, reinstated their Eze amid pump and pageantry.
Professor Anya O. Anya, a son of Abiriba, in his reaction, observed that the development portends good omen for the community. He, however, noted that a lot still needed to be done to cover lost grounds in the seven years legal tussle that brought inactivity to Abariba Kingdom.
