Microsoft commissions information centre in Lagos, launches Internet Explorer 8

Moses Nosike
To further create opportunities and bring itself closer to its subscribers, Microsoft has opened an information centre in Computer Village, a suburb of Lagos.

Specifically, the centre is where the company’s new and existing partners can access information and training they need to successfully build their businesses as distributors and traders of Microsoft products. The software company has also introduced into the market the Microsoft Internet Explorer 8 that will make online surfing secure.

Speaking at the commissioning centre, Channel Compliance Manager, Microsoft Anglophone West Africa, Uzo Okpaka, said the vision for the Microsoft Information Centre was simple, noting that “we want to provide opportunities for our partners to develop and expand their business so they can serve their customers better.

The centre will be equipped with PCs and Internet access where partners can access their partner accounts and information relevant to their business.

“As Microsoft continues its commitment to serve the needs of its partners and help them reach their full potentials, the centre will also incorporate a training facility where partners will have access to training programmes designed to strengthen their skills and support their business needs.”
