Klever J drops new album, D’Crow debuts with The Truth, Wande Coal live in New York and more…

The singer fondly called Klever  J in the music arena is at it again. The  Konikoni master is back with a new album titled Forward Ever. The 12-tracker album comprises tracks like Omosexy, Igboro Ti Daru remix ft. Dagrin, Eyiwunmi, To Marry, Love in Tokyo, Ose o, Shake Your Bom Bom featuring Terry G among others.  The album was officially released on Monday, March 8, 2010 and it’s marketed by Uba Pacific

Wande Coal live in New York
As you know, Wande Coal, the Prince of Mo’Hits is  on tour in the US.  He did a show in Maryland DC and it was crazy, he even did a back flip on the stage. We are all patiently waiting for the New York show happening today.  There is no party like a New York party for sure. But for those on the Mid West, Wande Coal is going to be in Chicago next Friday, so get ready for Bumper 2 Bumper.

That the  much talked about eLDee new album “Is It Your Money Vol:1 is available on iTunes and all online digital platforms is no longer news. The new gist that the  album is going to be available on the street from March Monday the 15th, 2010.

D’Crow debuts with The Truth
He didn’t have to rack his brain for a title. He had it the minute he decided to record his first album. Martin Omowho Adeda aka D’Crow has debuted with a 18-tracker and one skit, in an audio CD package he’s titled ‘The Truth’.

The Truth summarizes the University of Lagos trained Dentist’s experience in the last few years of his life. From his encounter with ‘Sugar Mummy 1 and 2’ (track 11, 18) , to Serious Business, Fine girl, Nairaman, and Miss Music.

In the last couple of weeks, the video to ‘My Birthday’, his first single featuring and produced by K-Solo, has been rotating generously on music channels and programmes. Now the stage is almost set for the entry of a follow up video, this time titled ‘Sugar Mummy’ right after The Truth begins to circulate beginning next Monday.

It’s Star–parade on this week’s G-BAM! Glo show

It will be a parade of stars on the  next edition of the glittering TV entertainment programme, G-BAM! Glo Show, which will run on Saturday, on the network belt of Nigerian Television Authority, from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The stars and celebrities like Lillian Bach, Monalisa Chinda, Sasha, Desmond Eliot, Ini Edo, Zik Zulu Okafor, Emem Isong, will be seen at a rendez vous with Uche Jumbo as she launches her new work.

The show also features new kids on the block, Freewindz the latest hip hop crooners and dancers who are already looking like the next biggest thing in the Nigerian music scene. The group of three brothers turns out to be a fresh, pleasant musical surprise, displaying the vocal skill of veterans and the dance steps reminiscent of the Michael Jackson generation. It is a must-watch.

Star performance on the show are the musical duet, KC Presh who apart from their dazzling performance on set, will also showcase their new video shot in South Africa. In the interview session, presenter, Illrymz, takes on the duo on their style, their wealth, their music and their new big investments in the industry.

Basket Mouth tickles ribs in London

Name it, Madonna, Spice    Girls, Kanye West, and Steve Wonder, they’ve all at one time or the other held performed at  02 Arena, in United Kingdom. Even the late king of pop, Michael Jackson was to do his last concert there before death came calling.

Joining the list of who-is-who that had graced the hall recently is our own Bright Okpocha, the man we all know as Basket Mouth with his brand new show ‘Lord of the Ribs’.

Basket, as he is fondly called; last month rocked the entertainment scene in the city of London on Sunday February 21 as he became the second black comedian in the history of the prestigious hall to have a sold out show. The 2500 capacity hall was filled to the brim except that he had to reserve the mandatory 500 space in case of emergency and to fulfill the agreement in the insurance policy he bought for the show.

Commenting on the success of the show, the frontline comedian who is also a GLO Ambassador said starting that big was the best way to start a new show. ‘After resting Basket Mouth Uncensored, starting bigger and upping the ante is the best way to start Lord of the Rib. The show was big, successful and profitable which is very rare in the history of comedy show. The show meets every perimeters one use to measure successful shows. I thank God and my team’.

Kay-l Unveils his first visual statement
Fast rising rapper, Olasunkanmi Pedro a.k.a Kay-L may not have a jersey in the bandwagon of similar sounding rappers of the moment but his originality and positivity makes him a veritable potential to keep an eye on as time unfolds.

His singles “Razz Butter Boy” and “Oloja Selling” speak volumes of what his intensions are for the local music scene. According to him, “My mission is to infuse moral values into the ears of young people with my music”.

In a bid to project his mission, he consulted the expertise of ace cinematographer, DJ Tee to direct the video for “Oloja Selling”. The video, which premiered last week, is already enjoying massive air play and sitting comfortably on Nigezie’s top 9 music videos.

Kay-L’s music is a fusion of English and pidgin, which according to him, makes it easier to cut across to every listener out there. “My rap and singing ability is attracting people from the streets and the mansion. I preach morals while we all dance to the groove”.

Kay-L’s upcoming album will have 18 tracks featuring artistes like M.I, X-Souljah, Dagrin, Chinel and Ex-O. In his words, “the title of the album will be made public soon and I believe it will redirect the movement of rap music in Nigeria.
