OWERRI—Irked by adverse reports from Nigerians, the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, IPMAN, has set up Product Allocation Committee charged with the responsibility of monitoring and checking the excesses of its members.
The National Vice President of IPMAN, Elder Chinedu Okoronkwo, made this known while speaking after the election of 18 new officers to run the affairs of IPMAN, Eastern Zone, for the next three years.
He commended IPMAN, Eastern Zone, for shunning all shades of crisis and remaining formidable, adding that “brotherly love, unity and oneness have come back to the East again.â€
Continuing, Okoronkwo said that the National Headquarters of IPMAN would uphold the development in the Eastern Zone, stressing that the association would not stop at retailing fuel but would work religiously towards owning a depot of its own in the zone.
In his speech, the Zonal Chairman, Mr Chukwuma Utazi, recalled how the caretaker committee weathered the storm by elevating the status of IPMAN and commended the unit chairmen for their maximum support.
He promised that the Zone would reclaim its businesses allegedly taken over by Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, pointing out that “we must ensure that after huge expenditure on the business, there must be a return on our investment.â€
