LAGOS — THE Lagos and District Society of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, ICAN has finalised preparations to receive the 45th current President of the body tomorrow.
At a press briefing in Lagos, Tuesday, to sensitise members, Chairman of Lagos and District Society of ICAN, Mr. Dayo Babatunde, said: “It is our convention yearly to welcome every ICAN President and we are going to welcome the current President, Mrs. Elizabeth Adegbite, to our district for a one-day visit.â€
He said the President would be taken round six companies, namely: Value Card, Shell, Mobil, GT Assurance, and Oando, “where the district’s members are working to see how they are faring in their places of work and rob minds with them to see how to contribute more in the area of training.â€
Babatunde explained that the district had approached the Nigerian Accounting Standard Board, NASB, on the issue of training because Nigeria would soon migrate from Statement of Account to International Finance Reporting Standards, IFRS, which is the globally accepted standard.
