SEVERAL months after the Federal Government set up a rehabilitation camp at Aluu, Choba for repentant militants from Rivers and some neighboring states, nothing much seems to be happening there.
The place looked deserted when Sunday Vanguard visited, on Friday. A few of the former militants still hanging around said others only come when the government pays allowance to repentant militants at the camp.
Meanwhile, a former militant leader in the Niger Delta has called on the Federal Government to commence its post-amnesty programme for his colleagues in the region. Sobomabo Jackreec alias Egberipapa, who spoke in Port Harcourt, Rivers State capital, said government should take steps that would further consolidate on the peace in the region.
