Enugu—Three days to the 21st Enugu International Trade fair, activities are in top gear at the fair’s venue. A NAN correspondent, who visited the trade fair’s permanent site in Enugu, yesterday, reports that construction of pavilions was going on, with scores of carpenters and electricians on duty.
Some of the artisans told newsmen that their businesses had experienced remarkable boost because of the large expanse of land at the fair’s site.
Mr Emeka Ewa, a student of Federal Polytechnic, Okoh, who was handling some electrical works at the site, said that he was there to make some money to aid his studies. “Business is going on well here but it is not booming like when the fair was held on the temporary site,’’ Ewa, who is on a one-year industrial training, said.
A carpenter, Mr Joseph Ndukwe, said, “this is our business season, the trade fair presents to us a unique opportunity to make good money to meet our family needs.’’However, Mrs Maureen Ugbo, a food vendor, said that business was not booming as expected because the fair would be held at the permanent site for the first time.
